My Super Summer Tastes

 Kia Ora Bloggers, today I made a poster about what foods I like to eat in the summer. What I did is found some photos from the internet and write what I liked about the food. I wrote about 4 foods. I hope you guys like my super summer tastes poster!

Building a super column SLJ

 Kia Ora bloggers, today I have done another SLJ task. This task is making a super column. What I used is three sheets of paper, one big piece of card board, scissors, tape, a ruler and something heavy. What you need to do is. First cut the cardboard to 25cm long and 13cm wide or you can do something else make sure you cut two pieces. Then with the three sheets of paper get one and fold it portrait, then cut it in the middle. Then get another sheet of paper and fold portrait again and then fold it into 8 pieces. After that you have to cut it portrait in the middle. Then fold it into a triangle and tape it, now get the third paper and cut in the middle, portrait. Then shape it into a circle and then watch the video down below for the rest of the instructions.

 Kia Ora Bloggers, today I am doing another Summer Learning Journey task. What I have done is went on my blog and looked for a kind and nice comment. Then what I did is that I replied to it.  Kia Ora Bloggers, sorry I could't do this earlier but today I made a mini dam. I just surrounded it with rocks, then I put a little bit of leaves on the rocks. After that I put water inside it. I hope you guys like it and have a great rest of your day!

Kia Ora Bloggers, Today here I have made a Kowhaiwhai. If you don't know what it is, it is a Maori art, they are a way to tell a story and each has a meaning. Kowhaiwhai patterns are painted in a whare tipuna ( Meeting House). I hope you guy like my post!  

SMJ Te Reo Maori

 Kia Ora blogger, today I did another Summer Learning Journey task, what I did was putting all of the words together but the thing was the words were Maori and I had to do all sorts of Maori challenges. Also at the 7 slide there is a video of me and my brother saying Maori phrases to each other. I hope you guys like it! 

SLJ Floral Insect Art

 Kia Ora Bloggers, Today I made a Insect with just leaves. How I did this was I gathered some stuff that I have in my backyard and made a Insect. I made a butterfly, I got a big leave and also some small ones that were green but lighter. Then I got some really ting leaves and then went back inside to make my butterfly. I started of by putting the leaves together, so I put the little leaves slightly under the big leave. I got the little leaves as arms and the big leave for the body, I also got the ting leaves for the ears. Then I put the ears on then put a smile on it's face! It looks like it doesn't have an eye but it does, it is just the sun blocking it! Hope you guys like it!

 

SMJ Fishing False Teeth

 Kia Ora Bloggers, today I did another Summer Learning Journey task. The task you have to do is about making a comic about Fishing False Teeth. I made a video of me saying my comic. I hope you guys like it and have a great rest of your day!

SLJ DIY Microphone

 Kia Ora Bloggers, Today I made a DIY Microphone. IF you guys want to make your own at home just follow these steps because it is very easy!

What you will need:

You will need to have 3 cardboard cups and something that can make tiny holes. 

What you will need to do: 

You will first need to get the 3 cups and put a hole on the bottom of the cup on each of the cups! Then stack then on top of each other, you don't have to do this but what I like to do is put a tie that you use for your hair on the cups. Then once you finish doing that you can add little holes at the bottom to make your voice got more to the left and right. Here is a photo of my DIY Microphone I made. 

I hope you guys have fun with your DIY Microphones and also make sure to only use it outside. You guys can use it inside as well if it isn't that loud!

My quality comment

Today I am going to show you guys how I write a quality comment. First I start with saying Hi or Kia Ora then the persons name. After I do that I write what I liked about it, what they could work on and last but not lease something helpful for next time. Here is my comment that I commented on a person from Hay Park Schools blog!

I started off by saying something thoughtful. I said I liked the choices of want he put like watermelon, chips, mince and banana. Then I said something positive. The second thing I said was I agree that watermelon is healthy for you and also yummy. Then I put something helpful, I said maybe next time he could add somethings that are not food like clothes and swimming togs.  

Tabloids

 Kia Ora bloggers, last week we did Tabloids. If you don't know what are Tabloids her is what it is! It is  when you set up games to play and once you set it up there will be all different groups going from 1 to 6. Then you put each of the groups in one of games. This is a chance for kids to be the leader. Then you kept on going a round until you come back to the game you started at the start. Here is a photo of us doing Tabloids. This game was called noodle tag!

 Today our class and I made Christmas candles. It is called Soy Candles but we calling it Christmas Candles. Its very cool and smells very good when you light it. It is also very easy to make, here is what we did so you guys can make some at home!

How to make Soy Candles:

Things you need: Measuring spoon, Measuring cup, pouring jar, double boiler, tealight holder, wicks, thermometer, some kind of essence, cup for the candle.

What you need to do: 

1.  First you need to fill your double boiler to a quarter.

2. Then you you put it on your stove and let it heat up.

3. After you do that you get another pot but a little smaller and put 200grams of waxs using A measuring spoon or measuring sup. 

5. When you do that you have to put it in the double boiler and keep on mixing because if you don't mix the wax will stick to the pot.

6. Once it is all melted put a essence of your choice then keep on mixing it.

7. After doing that you have to get the wick and put it in the cup for your wax.

8. Once that is done you have to to let it sit for over a night,then you can light it up.

Fun Friday

 Kia Ora Bloggers, today we had a disco party and we also did secret Santa. It was very fun and very loud as well. Here is my writing of what happened.

Today at lunch time we had a disco. It was very loud and fun. We closed the curtains and move the tables away then put some music on and then danced. A lot of us were just dancing and when we got tired we sat down. We were dancing for about 30 minutes or so and then the bell rang. When the bell rang we were waiting for our Teacher to come to tell us if we could eat yet. She came back then we did the prayer and ate. I mostly ate popcorn and strawberries. When the bell rang to pack up eating we packed up and then cleaned up. It was time to open our gifts and I was really excited to open mine. I got my gift and we took photos then opened it. I got a Christmas doll that I could hang up on the tree. It is VERY cute and kind of soft but I like it. Today was AMAZING!

Hour of code/ Coding town

Cyber Smart Teaching

 Hi Bloggers, today the year 5's and year 6's went on a trip to Emirates team. The year 4's and under had to stay at school. All the year 4 teachers went on the trip with the year 5's and 6's except room 8's teacher, Mr Buzzo. 

After Morning tea all the year 4's and 3's went into the hall so the year 4's could show the year 3's how to do a google drawing. We First budded up with one of the year 3's. I was with Flo and she was a beginner and we didn't finished her poster but it was good. Also at the end Mr Buzzo said he had a little spy seeing who was patient with there buddy's and being nice to them. Me and Flo got 10 dojo points. Here is what she made!

Diwali Diyas

 Today we made Diyas for Diwali. It was very fun and all of them were so cool. Here is what we did and used. Also You guys can make it at home or school. Hope you guys like it!

What we used: 
We used Modeling tools, Modeling clay, Glitter, Stars, Sequins.

What you have to do: 

1.You have to first breaks a piece of the clay 

2.   Then roll it into a ball

3.  After that you have to flatten the clay to make a pancake shape

4. Then shape it into a bowl kind of shape

5. After that you can decorate it anyway you like

Museum Trip Writing

 Kia Ora whanua, this is my writing that I did about the Museum trip. Hope you guy like it!

Museum trip

 On Wednesday we went on a trip to the Museum. Room 1, 7 and 9 went to the Museum on Tuesday and Room 2, 8 and 6 which is my class on, went on Wednesday. When I came to school my Teacher told us which groups we are in. I was with my friend Sascha, Ha'unga, Pranav and Mehdi. We went to the Moari centre first, we explored a lot, there was a lot of cool stuff. There were necklaces, tools, dresses and some other stuff. After we looked at the Moari centre we went upstairs to the volcano room. Me and my friends were sitting next to each other and then the TV turned on. The room started to shake but only lasted for a few seconds. It finished and we went to look at the room with all the names around it. Once we finished there we ate lunch. We finished eating lunch and looked more. We looked for about 20 minutes and it was time to go back to school. We went into the bus and headed back to school. I LOVED THE TRIP!

Kia Ora Whanau, today my class, Rae class and Pule class went to the Museum for a trip. We looked at all of the things and stuff. We went into the lava room which shakes, it was very scary. Today when I arrived to school I did my soda task, when the bell rang I packed up and sat on the mat. Then we did the roll and headed of to breakfast and buddy reading. Once we were finished with that we went to maths. In my maths class we are doing long division, after maths we did reading and then the bell rang. So we had a snack and went to play, once the bell rang we did a thing called maps were we find were we are on maps. After that the bell rang and I went to do office duty with my friend Sascha. The other kids played and once the bell rang again we had lunch and headed back to class. Then we did SSR witch is silent reading. Then we went to the library and when we were finished in the library we got our bags and waited for the bell to ring. Once the bell rang I went to Skids, Skids is a after school care for kids parent to leave them there and work then come back and get them. We played some games and then my mum came and picked up up. Then I had dinner and showered then went to bed.

 Kia Ora whanau, 2 days ago the whole class finished their films and we all watched it. The new girl won and today we did a Film Festival Reflection. The Film Festival Reflection has questions that you have to answer, here are mine. The purple writing is mine and the black is the question.

How did you feel about the film making process and why? I feel good about the process of film making because you get to act and I love acting.

What did you enjoy? I enjoyed drawing the storyboard out.

What did you learn? I learnt that a film takes time to finish and you have to have teamwork.

What was challenging? The challenging part of this was editing because you're going to have to put music in and if you need to you have to add special effects. 

If you could go back in time to the beginning of the term, what would you do differently? I would’ve changed where the scenes had to be because some of our locations were taken or we couldn’t use it so we had to change the location. 

What advice would you give to someone creating a film next year? I would tell them to make sure that they have good camera angles and make sure they don’t make up stuff while they are doing their film.

Character book day

 Kia Ora Whanau, today is Character book day which is when you dress up as your favourite book character. I dressed up as little red ridding hood and my friend just wear mufti. Here is a photo of us, hope you like it.

Feed my Whanau

 Kia ora Whanau,

 Today we did cooking, the cooking is from skids. It is called Feed my Whanau, we made vegetarian pasta.

The ingredients you will need is broccoli and carrot, you can use any type of vegetable. Then you get milk, spaghetti and cheese.Now you will cut the broccoli in to small different pieces and peel the carrot. Then when you are finished cutting and peeling you put it on the stove. Then wait for about 5 minutes, and then start mixing it. After that you put milk in the pan and mix, then leave it for 5 minutes again. Then make the spaghetti and put it in the pan, after that, mix it and put the cheese in. Then leave it for 5 minute and then enjoy it.

Stressballs

 Kia Ora whanau. Today we made stress balls. Here is a photo of me a my friends and our stress balls we made. I will also be telling to guys how to make it.

1. Get 3 helium balloons and a bottle that is dry

2.  Get rice and fill the bottle up with rice

3. Pore the rice into the the balloon with the bottle

4. Cut the tip of the 2 balloon and put the 2 balloon over the first

5. Get the third balloon and do the same

 Kia Ora Bloggers, Yesterday we made homemade butter, if you want to try to make it at home here are the introductions. 

Ingredients:

- 1 bottle of cream  

- pinch of salt

Utilities: Glass jar

     Method: 

Get a jar

Get cream

1. Pour the cream into the jar

2. Shake it until the sides turn yellow

3. Take out the leftover cream from the jar

4. Take out the butter and Wash it

5. Then put the butter in a container and save it for later

You can use the leftover cream for your other cooking or save it to drink later.

  

𝕄𝕪 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕗𝕖𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕤

Kia Ora Whanau, Today me and my class did some meditating. We learnt a skill that makes you really cam and relaxed. Here are the steps and what you have to do. You can try it at home and share it with you family.

1. Put your left hand on your stomach so you can feel you stomach go in and out.

2. Close you eyes.

3. Breath in for 3 seconds, then breath out, do it ten times.

4. Then you can open your eyes when you are ready.

After that you will feel cam and not stressed if you are.

Kia Ora whanau,  last week me and my class did a weekly quiz. I finished mine so I decided to share it with you guys.  

Mini film festival

 Kia ora Whanau, this lockdown has got me crazy. So my teacher gave us a fun activitie to do during lockdown! So i decided to share the activities we did. Our activities was making a film one minute or less but I think I did a minute and 34 seconds by accident. I was the actor and my family members were in the video too. My brother that comes to the same school as me was the camera person. I hope you guys like it!

 Kia Ora whanau, Here is my writing that I wrote about the beach, hope you guys like it!

Blake's family went to the beach today to go for a swim. Blake had two brothers and one sister, her brothers' names were Brooklyn and Bryce. Her sister’s name was brook, they hung out with each other all the time except in school because they weren’t in the same class. They changed into their swimming togs and started swimming but then they remembered to put sunscreen on. They put sunscreen on then hopped in the ocean, Blake’s Mum and Dad kept looking at the coconut trees but also kept watch of the kids. 

Blake and Brook were having a breathing contest which is basically who could stay  underwater the longest. Blake came up thinking she won but instead she didn’t see anyone there. She thought they were still in the water so she waited, she didn’t see anyone so she decided to check if anyone was in the water but no one was there. She didn’t see her family at all, only other families and other people, She tried calling out but no one listened.

She was getting scared and decided to get some coconut and drink them because she was SO HUNGRY and SO THIRSTY but then she started to fall to the ground. She woke up and felt like she had been in a coma for years, her parents said that when her and Brook did the challenge you drowned and have been in the hospital for two days. Blake's parents were happy and went back to the beach with no breathing contest allowed. When they finished having a swim they went to have ICE CREAM.

The big bad wolf

In a cloudy black gigantic forest, there lived a big bad wolf. He was always hiding in the dark away from the light. If any animal saw him, they would race away not looking back at all. All the animals in the forest went away, no one could even find a single animal in the forest.  

 The big bad wolf had huge razor sharp teeth and pointy claws. He was hairy, smelly and hideous. He also has scruffy fur that would always get tangled in the branches from the trees. He looked like he hadn’t had a shower for years and he was always getting himself in trouble. He was terrifying, misty and mysterious. His claws could slice a tree in a swipe, he had a shiny soppy nose. He is emotionless, sad eyes never glowed, except for at night.

The big bad wolf is awful, greedy, selfish and cheeky. He has a hateful heart and he mimics people's voices. He is a cunning monster and he despises the little red riding hood and her grandma. He's disgusting and he seems nice when you meet him but he has a dark heart inside. He hunts down small beloved bunnies when they don't expect it, but he does. The wolf is lousy and wicked.

He has a dark heart, that is full of lies. He pretends and he tricks the innocent ones. He is selfish, nasty and a big fat liar, his actions weren’t right. He ate grandma and he was going to eat little red riding hood as well. That wouldn’t be right. 

After his punishment I think he could have learned his lesson. He also should have changed and have been cleaning the grandma's house for her until she gets better. When she gets better, he can go in the corner of the forest, where he belongs and so he can’t hurt anyone ever again.

Kia Ora whanau, in the holiday's I went to Rainbows end, I went there for my step sisters birthday. This is my writing that I did about the holiday's.

In the Holidays I went to Rainbows end, I went to Rainbows end for my step sister's Birthday. She was turning ten and my brother and I had already got her a Birthday present. Her mum hired a spot in Rainbow ‘s end that only my brothers and her cousin’s are allowed in. She hired it so we would have a place to eat and a place to put the food.

We woke up at 7:00 so we could get the food in the car and so we could get ready. Payton, my step sister had to wake up before us so she could go with her mum to get the cupcakes. Before she went with her mum she opened her gifts we gave her, she opened the cards first and I got her a card and a gift. She opened my brother Wally’s one first and it said happy Birthday payton, I hope you have a great day. Then she opened Kali’s one next, he got her a card and one of those moari necklaces because she is moari. Then she opened my present, she opened the card first and then she opened the box I gave her. I got her a little purse, a bracelet, nail poilosh, earring’s and a necklace.

She went and we got ready, we brushed our teeth, got out of our pj’s and put some clothes on and then we had breakfast. After breakfast we went to get the cake, after we got the cake we drove to Rainbows end. When we got there we took out the food and then waited for other people to come but also waited for the Rainbows end to open because we came way too early. My dad told me the Rainbows end opened at 9:55 and it was only 8:54. Everyone was here but it was only 9:45, Rainbows end open’s at 9:55 but the ride opens at 10:00, so we had to wait more. 

It was finely 10:00 and we went inside, we first went to see the spot Payton’s mum hired. After that we went on the Goldrush, it wasn’t that bad until you see the cart about you hit your cart. It goes really fast and turns a lot. The second thing we went on was the Roller coaster and that wasn’t fun, at least for me. Then we went on the log flume which is basically just getting into a log and at the end you go down a steep hill kind of thing. Then we went to go check on Payton’s mum, then we went on the invader and that made me DIZZY. We went on some car rides and some other things and then it was lunch time. We had some lunch and then went on more rides, my brothers wanted to go on the Roller coaster but I didn’t so I watched.

Then we went on the FEAR FALL which wasn’t fun at ALL, I liked it but I also didn’t. After that we wanted to go on the gold rush but it was closed and they had to test it. After that we decided to go on the invader one more time but me and my dad didn’t go on it because the last time we went on it we got dizzy. We saw that the gold rush was open so we decided that was going to be our last ride but then we wanted to go on the log flume one more time. We went on it and boy that was a scary ride, when it was finished we saw Payton in the line waiting to go on with her Koro which is grandpa. We went back to Payton’s mum and nearly everyone was there, when everyone was there we packed up and went back home.

Rainbows end was really fun and I would definitely go back. I hope I can go back for my Birthday. Have you ever been to Rainbows end and would you want to go back?

Stardome Trip Writing

Kia ora whānau, Last week our school went to the Stardome but classes went at different times. When we went to the Stardome we learnt about Matariki, I have done a writing about the trip we went on. 

Trip to Stardome

On Tuesday 23rd of June our school went on a trip to the Stardome. I was so excited but also a little nervous. As I thought of what it would be like because I have never been here before. My best friend Sascha was in my group, also Leon and Monica’s son, Pranav. 

When I met my parent helper, Monica I was SO excited because she was so kind. We ate lunch before going on the bus with room 2. I finished eating quite early so I played around for a bit. Once we finished eating and got in our lines with our parent helpers we got into the bus and started driving to the Stardome.

When we got there we went in and we waited but then we found out we came 5 minutes early. So we looked at some of the stuff until one of the staff from the Stardome. When they came we went into a room where we learnt about Matariki, did you know that Matariki is the hottest star in space. They told us a lot of stuff about Matariki including things like how in May, the sun blocks the earth from seeing the Matariki stars.

After Vennesa talked to us about Matariki she told us that she would give us one ipad per group and there would be 7 questions to answer. My group answered it quickly but we got one wrong. So that meant we only got six answers right.

Then when we finished doing the questions we had to line up and wait. When we were ready we went into a room with lots of seats. We sat on the seats and waited for the other people to get ready. Once everybody was ready, Vennesa told us that there would be stories being put on the ceiling and once she was finished talking the stories started. The first story was about kids living under the ground. Then the second was about Rona and the moon and the last one was about the Matariki stars. 

I think it was super fun and I loved the activity. I also loved the planetarium, where we watched the stories. My favorite story was the Rona one, I would definitely want to come back here and see more stuff about Matariki.
