Kia Ora bloggers, today I made a boat and put it on water to see if it would float. I put a little sail on the boat to try and make the wind blow on it so the boat would move but sadly that didn't work but the boat did work. I made it out of foil because I couldn't find anything around my house that would be useful to make a boat out of. I hope you guys like it.

Today for the SLJ task I did a template of what I think I am going ti be doing at this age. The ages are 17, 34, 51, 68 and 85. I learnt about cicadas as they have a really long timeline. They come out of the ground every 13, 17 years. They may look scary with there big red eyes but there harmless. today for the SLJ task I had to make beats. I made three beats and recorded them but kept pausing to get the other stuff for the next beat. I had to use weird things to make good beats. I used 2 rocks, peanut butter jar, plastic plates, empty coke bottle, plastic and a sugar jar. I hope you guys like the beats I made. ( Don't mind the background noise, it's my brother ). The last 2 weren't really beats.

Today I did a SLJ week 1 task. The task was making different kinds of rockets. There was the hoop, ring gliders and a normal plane. The plane went farther than the others but the ring gliders were really close. The ring gliders span in circles while the hoop just went all the way down to the floor. today i explored Google arts and Culture and bit and found a cool game called blob opera. It's a game where you can make opera songs by yourself with blob's. today on my classes google meet we went on google arts and culture and did Visual Crossword. It was easy on the first level but when I got higher it started getting harder. I don't know exactly how much levels there are but I got up to level 6. It's really fun and it helps you learn all types of art. Here is the link if you want to check it out.

It was fun doing this because I got to pick out the colours I wanted instead of me having to put this colour with the right number like the digital colouring games. Here is the link to the colouring. Kia Ora bloggers, Thursday this week all the seniors had a cybersmart lesson online. We were learning about what is media, our cybersmart teach Phil told us a bit about what bill boards, adds and other stuff make us do. Then we did our task, I joined a bit late so I don't know if I did this right but he said we could either use word art, google docs or google sheets. I choose word art, we had to put what media we go on and the bigger the text the more we go on that app, I think. I hope you guys like it.

Today I am going to be telling you my favorite part of lock down. We were in lock down for 3 months so there's a lot I could have done and I did do a lot like garden, read, write and more but my favorite thing was on my brothers birthday. My brothers birthday was in lock down like last year but we still had heaps of fun.
We had a BBQ and played lots of games, my mum and older brother were grilling chicken and sausages, while I was playing with my other brothers/the birthday boys. 2 of my brothers were born on the same day but different years so they had to share birthdays which they did not really like. We played tag ,hide and seek and find the items.
We made up the game find the items because we were getting bored. We went on a car ride to get some things, and then came back somewhere around 1:00pm. By 2 or 3pm the food was ready and we went inside to eat, we sang them happy birthday and my mum kept relighting the candles so she could get my brothers blowing the candles. Then we ate, cleaned up and watched a movie.

Wednesday this week we went back to school. It was optional for the parent if they wanted there kid coming to school or not. My mum wanted me to go to school, we have to wear masks everywhere if were in the school. I got to see some of my friends because most of my friends stayed home doing online school. I played a lot of games like musical statues and try not to say yes. Here's a photo of all the people who came yesterday.
Kia Ora bloggers, for a few days I have been working on an animation. It wasn't that hard expect having to duplicate all the slides. My favourite part of making my animation was doing the storm because I got to colour the backgrounds different shades of grey and I got to see the end results that looked good in my opinion. Kia Ora bloggers, yesterday my mum cooked keke. Keke is a round ball made of dough. It's really good. The ingredients you would need to make it is warm water, flour, sugar and yeast. What you have to do is mix all the ingredients together and start needing it with you hands. Then you put cling wrap around the dough and leave it for about 3 or 4 hours. The dough will rise and that's when you take the cling wrap off so the dough goes down, then you put the cling wrap back on. After 3 or 4 hour you can take the cling wrap off and then you put a pot on a stove. You put oil in the pot and let it heat up. Then you start putting the dough in the pot in shapes of a ball. Then you have keke. You guys can make this at home.
Kia Ora bloggers, today I wrote a piece of writing about the footsteps, I didn't really write it today. It's about The footsteps, It's a scary writing because I like writing scary stories but it usually starts off scary but then end nice. I hope you guys like it.
I was planning my next prank to play on my dad when he got home when I heard my mum shout from downstairs “bye Cameron, I'm going out for dinner with my friends tonight”. Bye mum, love you” I shouted back at her as I heard the door close. I was the king of pranking people and I loved to prank my parents. I was an only child and sometimes I wish I wasn’t so I would be able to prank my siblings.
My dad would come home in an hour so I would be able to have some time to set up another prank for him. Suddenly I heard glass break, I was confused, then I heard footsteps. Loud thumping footsteps, roaming around the house like they were looking for something.
I thought my mum had come back because she had forgotten something but then I remembered that when my mum got home she would go to the sink and wash her face so she wouldn’t fall asleep while doing all the things she needed to do. I knew this because when my mum would got home it would be 10pm and I was supposed to go to sleep at 8pm but I would still be awake.
I would fake sleep, I texted my dad to see when he would come back, then I went down stairs quietly. I tiptoed across the hall and down the stairs. I looked through the stair railings and saw a woman walking around the house.
I tried to look at her face but I couldn’t because she was facing the other way. I Tiptoed to the window and looked outside, I looked and saw my mum's car wasn’t there. I stood in shock as I had to hide behind the counter because the woman had turned around. The woman quickly walked to the tv then turned it on. I was confused, I tried to go back up the stairs but I couldn’t because if I did the woman would see me and probably kidnap me.
I felt relief when I heard a car pull up, and the woman walked to the door. I thought she was going but she didn’t, instead she opened the door and let in some people. It wasn’t my dad’s car, it was the woman's minions car who had come for whatever reason. While the woman was at the door that gave me time to walk up the stairs and go to my room. I texted my mum and she replied. She said she would come home soon and I just had to wait.
I waited upstairs but then I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. I hid in my closet in my room then covered myself with clothes. Then someone opened my room door and it sounded like they were searching for me. Then someone opened my closet door, they pulled the clothes off me then I screamed.
Then I realised it was my mum and dad “PRANKED YOU” my mum and dad said. “OMG, that was you,” I said. “Yep” my dad said. They helped me up and said they did this because they didn’t like me pranking them so they had to prank me too.
Kia Ora blogger, yesterday and today all the seniors came on one google meet and so did the teachers from each class. We had a special guest and his name was Andy. He taught us how to build a straw rocket at home. It was really hard for me because it was hard for me to cut the paper and get the right amount of paper. When finished I added some quick designs to it so it didn't look so plain. I hope you like it!
Kia Ora bloggers, today my class took a quiz about the Putiputi Kāneihana waiata. There were 7 questions, we had to watch the video of the translation and then take the quiz. The quiz was very easy and not that hard because all we were doing was picking the English version of some words in the waiata.
Kia Ora bloggers, today in my classes google meet a super snapper joined our google meet. Super snapper means a snapper scientist. So we had a scientist in our google meet and she told us some stuff about snapper.
Snapper can be found all around north island, up south island and in Australia.
Snappers eat other fish, hermit crabs, sea snails, octopus and worms.
How to tell how old a snapper is are by getting the snappers ear bone, putting it under a microscope and when it is under a microscope you will see rings. You count the rings and that´s how old the snapper is.
The shapes of snappers heads are different depending on where the snapper is from.

Kia Ora bloggers, today my class and I did Digital portraits. Half would be yourself and the other half would not be yourself. The hard parts for me were the nose, lips, eyebrows and the eyes. If you had it and touched someone they could have it to. Even if you cough on someone and you have the Delta their infected to.
How the Delta variant is different from earlier variant
The delta variant has a number of differences to earlier viruses. These differences mean that the Delta variant is a greater threat to health of people.
- One person infected with Delta could infect 5 or 6 more people.
- Delta can cause people to get more serious Covid 19 illness.
- People with Delta seem to carry much more of the virus.
- Delta outbreaks in places overseas so quickly.
- Some people have no symptoms when having Delta.

Today I am going to be telling you 3 interesting facts I learnt about Maui from Maui and the Giant fish.
1. First fact is that Maui catches the most biggest fish.
2. Second fact is that Maui's giant fish became known a the North Island of Aotearoa, and Maui's canoe the south island.
3. Third and last fact is that Maui's brothers were very selfish and chopped up a big fish Maui said to keep safe then kept on claiming big pieces to keep to themselves.

Today my teacher wanted the whole class to watch the trailer of a silent movie. Then we had to blog about it and say what you think the movie was about. We had a choice to blog about Gold Rush or The Lion's Cage. I chose to blog about The Lion's Cage because it made more sense to me.
I think that The Lion's Cage film was about charlie Chaplin trying to run away from a horse and going into a lion's cage by accident. Charlie Chaplin tries the door but he locked himself in, he went into the other cage but there was a tiger in there. Then a dog came and barked really loud that the lion nearly wakes up but a lady came and stopped the dog form barking.
The lady was going to unlock the door but she fainted. There was a box of water that was for the lion so he could drink but Charlie Chaplin used it to wake up the lady. The lady didn't wake up but the lion did. Charlie Chaplin tries to get though the door because the lion looked hungry and scary.
Right then the lion comes up to him and sniffs him but doesn't eat him. Then the lady wakes up and unlocks the door so Charlie Chaplin can get out but Charlie Chaplin thought that the lion was scared of him so he wanted to show off to the lady and went near the lion. Then the lion roars and scares off Charlie Chaplin. The lady follows Charlie Chaplin and sees he climbed a pole.
I think that this film is kind of good but i'd rather listen to audio with no video rather than no sound with a video.

Today all the seniors went to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics fan zone. When we got there we got to ask questions to a real Olympian, her name was Debbie Tanner, people asked her some questions like how many gold medals have you won and what was you favourite sport. Debbie Tanner did the triathlon in the Olympics which means she did running, swimming and cycling. After all the questions people asked Debbie Tanner we went to play Tokyo Olympics games.
There were online games such as surfing, baseball, karate and running. There were also some props like boxing gloves and bow and arrow that we could play with and take photos with them. After 20 minutes we went to the skills area. There were a bunch of stuff like Multi sports, badminton and more. For all of the challenges we got 20 minutes each to get more points than the other school that went there. After 20 minutes we would swap to the next challenge. We were all split up into groups and I was with my friends.
When we finished the skills challenges we went to watch the rowing race of the Olympics. New Zealand came 2nd which was good. There was a giant skateboard that we took a photo in front of before going back to school.

Today my class and I wrote about what we did in the holidays. I went to the movies with my family watch Space jam, the new legacy. I hope you guys like it!
During the holidays my family and I went to the movies. We watched Space jam, the new legacy. We went on Monday because that was the only day my mum had a day off so my mum decided we would go out on Monday. We went at 6:30pm because that was the only available time. I really enjoyed watching the part where they played basketball because there were power jumps that they could use to jump really high to get the ball into the hoop.

Today I did a Treasure hunt on google maps, I started off at Muriwai and there was a clue. For each place I went to there was a clue. At Muriwai there was a clue that lead me to Madagascar and it kept on leading me places with clues. The last place was Antarctica where Phil (the person who was going on the Treasure hunt) found the Treasure. The Treasure hunt was about Phil having a dream that a lemur wanting him to find his treasure and Phil did find the treasure but the lemur found it first. In the treasure chest was a fruit that the lemur wanted to grow to feed his entire species.

Today I made a horse and a house out of shapes. It was really hard to get the shapes into the perfect position to make it look like a horse. The hardest one to make was the horse, it took me hours to make it because of how the shapes had to be positioned. The easier one was the house that only took a few minutes so you can tell that the one that took the longest was the horse. I hope you guys like them.

Today my brother and I played guess the sentence. What you need to play are two people, pen or a pencil and two or three pieces of paper. How you play is one of the players write down a sentence they want the other player to guess. Then either of the players can write down 10 boxes on a piece of paper, if you need more boxes use another piece of paper and write the amount of boxes needed .Then the person who is guessing guesses some letters until they get the whole sentence. Punctuation counts as a letter so put punctuation in a box like a space. My sentence was high above success. My brother guessed the sentence petty fast because there were some double letters which made it easier.

Today for holiday blogging I created a minecraft superhero in my google sheets. For the head I used 8 by 8, the body I used 8 by 12, the arms I used 4 by 12 and for the legs I used 4 by 8. I watched a video of how to do this and it is really easy. If you want to create your own minecraft superhero and learn how to make one the link is here! This week on Tuesday and Wednesday my class and I had bike training. On Tuesday our time was 9:30 and on Wednesday our time was 11:25. On Tuesday we started off by learning how to put on our helmet on properly. After we went through that we went through the rules. Then we picked a bike to ride, the people who didn´t know how to ride a bike went with Jason and the rest went with loni. I was with loni and the first thing we did was ride around the court. Then we went into groups, there were a red, blue, yellow and a green group which I was in. We played a couple games and red won. Loni said if the red team won again they would get free time but if someone else won they would snatch the free time off the red team.
Sadly for the rest of the teams the red teams won. They got free time while everyone else had to put there bikes back and pack up. On Wednesday for the warm up we played the traffic light game. How the game went was everyone had to ride around the court and she would call out something to do, like when she called out stop light you had to stop and if she called out orange light you would have to ride on your bike slowly. Then we played a bean bag game and if someone from your team won you would get a point, a person from my team won then we played another bean bag game. My team won again and we got free time! Today my class and I got subway, we got subway because a few weeks ago every one in my class filled out a servery and it said if you have the best answers your class will get subway and lucky enough we won. It was delicious, in my subway I had, mayo, tomato, cucumber and chicken. We also got a bottle of water and a chocolate chip cookie which was also really delicious.
Some people who work for Kainga Ora even came to our classroom. We took some photos with them and then we got to give them some ideas of what to put in Auckland like more playgroups, pools, soccer fields and much more. The bell already rang and we didn't get time to eat yet so my teacher gave us a little bit more time. Here are some photos we took.

A couple days ago my class and I started a Tane Mahuta poster on google drawing. Today we got to finish it because most of the class didn't finish including me. We started this Tane Mahuta poster for matariki. Tane mahuta is related to matariki by how matariki became a thing. The children of mother eart Papatuanuku and sky father, Ranginui, were divided over whether to separate them and bring light and life to the earth. Eventually, Tane mahuta (the god of the forest), laid down and used his feet to force them apart but Tawhirimatea (the god of the winds) did not agree with his brother actions and thought separating his parents was a cruel idea. He got so angry at his brother that he tore his eyes out and crushed them, then he threw them up to the heavens and those became Matariki and the six sisters. Here is the matariki poster I made!

Today was our last test launch. At morning tea my class were getting our stuff ready then we saw that one of my group fins came of so we had to stay in and hot glue gun it back on. Nearly every ones fins came off so we all had to stay in and hot glue it back on. My group had finished hot gluing our fins back on our rockets so we went to play. The bell rang and my class had to line up and go to room 8 to say thank you to Colm (our ambassador) because this was our last session and we weren't going to see him any more.
After we talked in room 8 we went off to go to Keith Hay Park so we could do our test launches. My group went first we did 40psi and 200mls. We had to wait for everyone else to finish setting up because everyone wanted to blast off at the same time. Everyone was finished setting up so we counted down and blasted it. Our one went more further, then the other groups went. We put flags on were all of the rockets landed and at the end we measured them and The five missioners went the most furthest in our class. this week on Tuesday I had an Ambassadors meeting. An Ambassadors meeting is a thing that my Cybersmart teacher made. He picked 2 people from Wesley, Waikowhai, Haypark, May Road, Owairaka and New Windsor Primary School. In our meeting we talked about what we would do in these meeting. We learnt what Ako Hiko Ambassadors mean and what we have to do.
We learnt when Ako hiko started that there three goals were equity, opportunity and achievement. We talked about what we might do in the future with blogging, commenting and speaking up in public. We also got to have some snacks that the cybersmart teacher at Wesley primary cooked which really nice. I also got a badge online and in real life. Here are some photos. I am most excited about working with the group of ambassadors and speaking at public events. I think the strengths I am going to bring to Ako hiko are my writing skills and my confidence with speaking in front of people.
