Last Rocket launch

 Kia Ora bloggers,

Today was our last test launch. At morning tea my class were getting our stuff ready then we saw that one of my group fins came of so we had to stay in and hot glue gun it back on. Nearly every ones fins came off so we all had to stay in and hot glue it back on. My group had finished hot gluing our fins back on our rockets so we went to play. The bell rang and my class had to line up and go to room 8 to say thank you to Colm (our ambassador) because this was our last session and we weren't going to see him any more.

After we talked in room 8 we went off to go to Keith Hay Park so we could do our test launches. My group went first we did 40psi and 200mls. We had to wait for everyone else to finish setting up because everyone wanted to blast off at the same time. Everyone was finished setting up so we counted down and blasted it. Our one went more further, then the other groups went. We put flags on were all of the rockets landed and at the end we measured them and The five missioners went the most furthest in our class. Here are some photos and a video.

Ako Hiko Ambassadors meeting

Kia Ora bloggers,

this week on Tuesday I had an Ambassadors meeting. An Ambassadors meeting is a thing that my Cybersmart teacher made. He picked 2 people from Wesley, Waikowhai, Haypark, May Road, Owairaka and New Windsor Primary School. In our meeting we talked about what we would do in these meeting. We learnt what Ako Hiko Ambassadors mean and what we have to do.

We learnt when Ako hiko started that there three goals were equity, opportunity and achievement. We talked about what we might do in the future with blogging, commenting and speaking up in public. We also got to have some snacks that the cybersmart teacher at Wesley primary cooked which really nice. I also got a badge online and in real life. Here are some photos. I am most excited about working with the group of ambassadors and speaking at public events. I think the strengths I am going to bring to Ako hiko are my writing skills and my confidence with speaking in front of people.

The Wonder Project- Modifying

Kia Ora bloggers, on Tuesday 14th June we fixed our rockets. Last week Tuesday was our second test launch and next Tuesday will be our last

Last week we had our second test launch, for my group our rocket went high but some damage happened to our rocket such as all of our fins coming off. This Tuesday my group had to fix a lot of things like our fins because our fins were cardboard and our fins had to be plastic.

This took us kind of a long time because we made the fins then we put them in the rubbish bin because we thought we could use our cardboard fins but we couldn´t. We tried making more plastic fins but they were to curved. We didn´t finish by pack up time so we had to stay in and do it. We had to bring plastic from home because there were no more plastic bits we could use. When we had to finish our rocket we got the plastic my friend gave us and made fins. Then we glued them on, our rocket is now finished.

My marvelous boat animation

Kia Ora bloggers, today I made a boat animation. I made everything expect the clouds out of the polyline tool and the curve tool. My top tip for you guys is if you ever make a boat animation is for the sea make two pieces, make one darker then put that one at the back, and then for the 2 piece use a more lighter blue. Then when your boat is going though the sea it won´t look like your boat is going out of he screen. What  do you guys think I could do better? Have you ever used the polyline tool or the curve tool before?

Origami butterfly

 Kia Ora Bloggers,

Today my class and I made origami. My teacher let us go on you tube and search up origami and pick something that we can make. I picked to make a butterfly. It was kind of hard but also easy at the same time. I was near the end when a hard part came. It took me a few minutes to get it right then I moved on to the next step. All of my other friends were making butterfly's as well but my friends Neha, Alisi, Loiloi and Besi made roses which were really cool. I finished mine and I loved it so I made another one. Here is a photo or me holding them!

The Wonder Project- Lesson 6- second test flight

 Kia Ora Bloggers,

This week on Tuesday we did our second test flight.

After morning tea room 8 and room 6 went into room 9 to talk about what we needed to do and how we shot our rockets to the sky. We learnt about action and reaction, once we finished talking about that Mrs Eagleson asked the teachers from each class to pick students to come up and blow up a balloon. My teacher picked Lovely and Ahmed, Mrs Shrestha picked Elijah and Jeziah and then Mrs Eagleson picked Martha and Mila. They all blew a balloon that was the same size and pinched the end so no air would come out. Then Mrs Eagleson told them to let go at the same time so we could see who´s balloon went the highest. Mila´s balloon touched the ceiling so that means she won. We did one more round but the balloons were all different sizes. Mila and Martha's balloons were small, Lovely and Ahmed´s  balloon were medium and Elijah and Jeziah´s balloon were big.

They all let go and Elijah´s balloon touched the ceiling so he won, Lovely´s balloon nearly touched the ceiling but it didn´t. After that we went over the rules before going back into class to get our rockets. Then we made our way to Keith hay park. We set everything up and then Mrs Odeon picked the group missioners 5 to go first. They went and there first flight didn´t go so high but the second flight it went kind of high. Then my group went, for our first flight it went high but the second time it went higher. The others went and there one´s were really cool!
