today for the SLJ task I had to make something float in water. I got a lunchbox and filled it up with water for the sea and then put a lunch box lid inside of it but a more smaller one. I got a piece of foil and wrapped it so there wasn't any air bubble and it sank. Then I got another piece of foil the same size as the other and made it into a little boat, it floated. For things to float on water there has to be an air bubble inside for it to float. Metal can't float but boat can, boats are made from metal so how will they float? They float because inside all the metal is actually filled with air. Here are the photo's of the things floating.
Kia ora Keti!

Wow! It looks like you learned a lot doing today’s Nanogirl activity! It is crazy how tinfoil can sink if it’s scrunched up, but can float if there is space for air in it!
Did you manage to invent a boat that can go far, or hold a lot of weight?
Did you enjoy today’s activity?
Ka pai, Keti! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your awesome blog posts throughout this raumati for SLJ!!
Ngā mihi nui,
Charlotte :)
Ka pai Keti. Your description shows that you listened closely to the video. You mentioned the sea. Do you think things float different in the sea water compared to fresh water?
